Natalia Zaitseva received her Ph.D. degree from Moscow State University (Russia). She was affiliated with Physics Faculty, specializing in growth and characterization of crystals for nonlinear optical application in high power lasers. Her main contribution was development of methods for accelerated crystal growth from solutions. In 1993 she started her work with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory that resulted in successful development of rapid growth technology for production of uniquely large crystals for the world largest laser, National Ignition Facility (NIF). Natalia's current interest is synthesis and characterization of semiconductor nanocrystals with the following growth of the macroscopic colloidal superlattices.
